Description: This section of Kananaskis is scarred with these types of roads. They would get a cat to cut across a hillside in hopes that a suitable coal seam would be exposed. The drivers must have been crazy! These date from the mid 1940s. Now they make good hiking trails, which is what we were doing here. Description: The Irwin Block was constructed in stages between 1908 and 1910. Now part of a new development that will "revitalize" downtown Chilliwack, The Irwin Block, along with an entire block of heritage buildings, will be demolished to make way for a massive office/retail/residential development.
